Blimey! Where to begin?! Ostensibly writing about James McCartney's very limited but pleasantly "inoffensive" output--we are treated to the musings of yet another journo who seems to delight in twisting the knife. Shall we use the famous "failure" Julian Lennon as contrast then? Let's be needlessly mean-spirited in our assessments. By all means, let's excoriate Julian Lennon for his "unearned" celebrity status as the son of a Beatle; a pedigree also claimed by James McCartney and every other Beatle son you've mentioned. And this "lukewarm" debut album you refer to--is that the same album produced by the legendary Phil Ramone; that sold 1.5 million albums worldwide and went platinum? Right, I'm not here to change your opinion such as it is...but I was taken aback by the unfairness of your article. Julian Lennon is so much more--a philanthropist, documentarian, and critically acclaimed photographer. BTW his new album 'Everything Changes' was released yesterday. Will you actually "listen" to it?
