Written on Too Big to Save? So Long to a Whole Constellation of Historic Buildings:

In 1962-63 I attended 1st grade at The Tatum School (Taught by "Miss Margaret Tatum") in a house on 20th St., next door to Shelbourne Towers. Some years later I lived in Morrill Hall while at UT. At least one magnolia tree originally planted in front of that house was still standing on the 20th St. side of the dorm building.
I hope the magnolia survives this new change.

Would the shiny golden oozy thing be someone's interpretation of one of the cotton bales Jackson'e troops used for fortifications at New Orleans?
