In order to hold public meetings, some entity has to be responsible for advertising them, reserving locations and providing liability insurance or waivers and utility cost reimbursements, having a PA system etc. I don't see how private citizens with no official capacity will be able to do this. There has to be a government office and budget to sponsor such activities, no? And some chain of command? Official capacity? This action by los dos Mayors was not only lame, but troubling. I think "limbo" describes where we find ourselves with regard to caring for homeless and mentally ill persons in our community.
Governor Edwards of Louisiana used to brag that the only way he wouldn't be reelected, despite known kickbacks and scandals, would be to get caught in bed with a dead woman or a live boy. Honestly, each revelation about our middle-aged mayor in crisis is more embarrassing than the next. Someone more powerful than the mayor needs to take him to the woodshed.
Exactly! I am so ashamed of voting for this so-called county mayor based on the KNS endorsement. There were many red-flags about his character that were not investigated and reported by the local media. And now, we are too impotent to deal with this man who continues to flaunt his indiscretions in spite of public scrutiny and outrage. It's embarrassing.
Best Fried Chickens - at least that's what they say it it - biggest chickens I've ever seen. greens - yum. Didn't know this had anything to do with Calhoun's...???
I was with you until the last sentence, but then you probably have more information than is publicly known about the motives of the Charter Petition group...
County Commission can honor God and Charlton Heston, but is too gutless to make substantive changes that would restore confidence in elected officials. The so-called Mayor and fee-office holders have contributed to the public disgust and distrust of Knox County government.
They can hardly be any further eviscerated.
