Great article - thanks. I remember seeing Stan Kenton and Count Basie at Gordon's Townhouse back in the late 50's, early sixties in my student days.

I remember going to a place over on the east side of downtown, but just close by. Maybe it was this Rudy's joint - it fits the description, but it seems like it was on a week night and not much was happening. It's just the vaguest of memories.

Jack, when are you going to do an article on the legendary Dougout Doug's record shop on the Strip??? He was an unforgettable character - a true Hep Cat. Surely many of you out there remember him.
