I don't live in Knoxville, but I can't understand why the University would want to expand when their enrollment is down. It doesn't justify the tearing down of these homes. Their enrollment is down because their tuition costs have risen so high that it is becoming increasingly unaffordable to go there. I think the homes should be preserved. We are so quick to destroy pieces of our heritage for the sake of unnecessary progress.
