The Knox County Disaster Animal Response Team is seeking new volunteers to help save animals that are the victims of natural disasters.

Better Building Board Meeting

3:30 p.m., Small Assembly Room of the City County Building

The War on Blight continues! Codes and fire inspectors will present photographs and testimony regarding dirty or overgrown lots, abandoned vehicles, and structural violations. Property owners also have a chance to speak, as do neighbors and neighborhood organizations.

4th annual Spring Fling Rummage Sale

9 a.m.-1 p.m., Windsor Square Shopping Center

Featuring feature crafts, jewelry, a farmers' market, food, and inflatables for the kids, this rummage sales will raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee's one-to-one mentoring program.

Beardsley Community Farm is conducting a series of spring and summer gardening classes. And with global warming afoot, spring comes earlier every year, so you'd better get cracking. Tonight's class: companion planting.

Hot Trio LIVE!

7 p.m., Bijou Theatre. $10.

This fund-raiser for the Joy of Music School begins with a concert featuring students and the Hot Trio, and then a screening of a documentary about the band, which consists of Tall Paul (!), Andy Wood, and Melanie Howe.
