Green the Block

8 a.m. (clean-up), 1-3 p.m. (block party), 2500 East Fifth Ave.

This east-side beautification event and community celebration gathers volunteers to help clean up the 2500 blocks of Linden, Magnolia, East Fifth, Woodbine, and Jefferson Avenues. Meet at the shared parking lot of the Overcoming Believers and East Fifth Avenue Baptist churches; a block party starts at 1 p.m., featuring bounce houses, games, music, and food.
