This special Thursday edition allows Council to take Christmas Eve off. And that means we finally have their agenda by press time! Resolutions include renewing the contract with SMG to continue managing the Knoxville Convention Center and providing pharmacy benefit management services for the city workers' compensation program (cost: $275,000).

Saturday, Dec. 21

More City Council

10 a.m., City County Building. Free.

Can't get enough weekday City Council action? Then we've got a Saturday session for your consideration! The drama begins at 10 a.m. in the Main Assembly Room with the swearing in of five Council members to four-year terms. A reception will be held in the Small Assembly Room following the ceremony. Then, at 11:30 a.m. it's back to the Main Assembly Room for a Special Called City Council meeting. Who will be elected vice mayor?!

Saturday, Dec. 21

Market Square Holiday Market

Noon-3 p.m., Market Square.

Last day for the festive market—time to stock up on local crafts and artisan food products! Presented by Nourish Knoxville, a non-profit organization founded to cultivate and support relationships between farmers, artisanal producers, and the community.

Sunday, Dec. 22

KSO Clayton Holiday Concerts

3 p.m., Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum. $14-$45.

Lucas Richman conducts the 27th annual Clayton Holiday Concerts, which feature the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, the Knoxville Choral Society, GO! Contemporary Danceworks, Knoxville Pipes and Drums, and Four Leaf Peat.
