Battle Fatigue
After 10 years' worth of previous development fights, East Knox Countians once again find themselves battling a proposed business park at Midway Road. At its meeting on Monday, Dec. 13, Knox County Commission is supposed to finally vote on the latest revision to the East Knox County Sector Plan urged by the Super Chamber, this time with nearly 400 acres of fields and hills around Midway and Thorngrove Pike marked for "light manufacturing, offices and locally-oriented warehouse/distribution services." Why are both sides fighting so hard for this land? Jesse Fox Mayshark finds out.

In one of his trailers was a load of interesting construction debris. As it turned out, it was the long-missing Humes House—and its reappearance stirs memories of a sometimes bitter 27-year-old controversy.
