The holiday spirit haunts us all in different ways—some take to compulsive shopping and over-the-top decorations, while others steal from charities.
According to a Knoxville Police report, on Dec. 11, an employee at a local superstore filed a complaint regarding the theft of a large amount of merchandise designated for the Angel Tree charity.
The complainant alleged that the suspect grabbed bags of wish-list gifts for local kids, placed them in her cart, and then stashed them in her vehicle. But, in an act of genius, instead of fleeing the scene, the suspect brought two of the bags back into the store with hopes of exchanging the merchandise. Somehow, the exchange occurred, but not before she handed over her driver's license number.
Needless to say, the suspect's holidays are—more than likely—not going to be filled with cheer.
