Second-Most Well Read City? Well...

On April 24, Amazon.com released its third-annual survey of the "Most Well-Read Cities in America," and Knoxville came in as the No. 2 city buying the most books, newspapers, and magazines per capita. (Alexandria, Va. came in first.) However, as the AP reported, it was not due to purchases of literary fiction: "E L James' erotic Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy was a big hit in both places, especially in Knoxville, which advanced from No. 12 last year."
