Knoxville: City of Grit and Determination

Atlanta-based travel writer Caroline Eubanks visited a friend who had recently moved to Knoxville and used the experience to knock out a couple of Knoxville posts. First, she wrote a Weekend Guide to Knoxville for thisismysouth.com, which posits itself as "A travel guide to the Southern USA." Her first line is refreshingly candid—"Most people don't have a reason to visit Knoxville, Tennessee"—but she does immediately tout the city's most famous attractions: beer, biscuits, Vols. At her own carolineinthecityblog.com, Eubanks takes note of Knoxville's grittiness and pride of scruff, and concludes "But I think Knoxville is on the rise. It's becoming a much more hip place for its formerly industrial background and low cost of living." Can we be the next Chattanooga? Some day...
