Knox County Mayoral Candidates Forum

Spend this Friday evening at West High School getting acquainted with four candidates for Knox County Mayor: squaring off for the Republican ticket, Tim Burchett and Tim Hutchison; pushing for the Democrats' bid, Ezra Maize and Michael McBath. Lewis Cosby, an independent also in the race, won't be on hand since he doesn't have to win a primary to advance to the general election in August.

While August might still seem a ways off, whichever Tim wins the May 4 primary will be heavily favored to take the general, so this really is crunch time. Last week at another mayoral debate held at Pellissippi State Community College (and moderated by yours truly), Hutchison complained he's gotten precious little face time with his opponent thus far. With early voting beginning this week, Hutchison will be pressed to confront Burchett to make some news when the two take the stage at 7 p.m.

But don't forget the Democrats! For the love of God (or your "spirituality," as it were), don't ever forget the Democrats. Maize and McBath take the stage at 8 p.m. to offer their takes on the issues facing the county.
