We are no longer interested in the welfare of individuals, unless they happen to be rich or well connected, preferably both. We continue to pour out billions of dollars in price supports, concessions, tax breaks, refunds, etc to corporations and the super-rich; and we fight for the rights of the corporations over the rights of the individual. Take Big-Pharm, who charge the people of the U.S.A. more for drugs than any other country in the world. Heck, “our” government has actually written into law that the U.S. government will not negotiate for lower drug prices.

Then there is Big-Oil, who have sucked the crude out of us without royalties as required by U.S. law, and have continued to gouge us for every cent they think they can extract at the gas pumps. Until now, of course, and they have backed off the painful gouging until after the election. They have raked in billions of dollars to funnel to their congressional puppets to ensure their re-election. Just wait! After Nov. 7, expect the prices at the pump to start their meteoric rise again.

As Americans, we have abrogated our responsibilities for the little guy, and we have all but completely surrendered our God-given rights to this wicked administration. We must not be compassionate for those that our government would torture, and if we are compassionate, we are supporting the enemy. All of this should make us mindful of Nazi Germany and their fall into the maws of Hell leading up to WWII. Apparently we have forgotten what it is to love liberty, to cherish compassion, to honor humane treatment of prisoners. God help us for we, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, our sacred habeus corpus are being thrown out. Who will speak for us? Is it too late for America to get a new heart for the one ripped from them by greed and political corruption?

Articles like this as well as non-partisan projects like are much needed vehicles for helping the returning vets tell their side of the story. I am a firm believer that we ought to support U.S. troops regardless of how we may feel about whatever war they are fighting in. They deserve our support as fellow Americans engaged in a daily battle to survive.

If you look down on soldiers you show a lack of maturity and respect.… After all, when is the last time you were willing to lay down your life (literally and figuratively) for something?

Add to Prayer List

America is weeks away from a critical election, when all of the House of Representatives will be elected. That body is made up of 535 souls, who will have a two-year say over some of the affairs of this country. Simultaneously, the electorate will be voting for candidates seeking one-third of the 100 seats in the United States Senate. The Congress of the United States, and particularly the Senate, is under spiritual attack—a siege of unhealthy attitudes and mean-spirited people. Senators are caught up in a struggle for power, and as a result, they are overwhelmed with arrogance and pride. Prayer is the only answer to bring about the necessary changes needed to re-shape this country. You and I have a lot of praying to do in the meantime.

Prayer is the tool that first shaped America when this country was founded, and the God who answered prayer in the days of our forefathers is still on the throne. We moved…He did not….

The Bible speaks of direction. Direction involves planning. Good leaders are led. Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”  Acts 2:17 “…and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.”

Pray over the candidates running for election. I am confident that if you pray, God will lead you in choosing the righteous. Also, listen for the small nuances that come out of the mouths of candidates.  God will provide direction for those he has selected. Remember also, you are an instrument of his peace and action, especially in an election year. This is not the time to for us to develop an attitude problem. The Bible cautions that when we rebel against those he has chosen, and put on the throne, we are rebelling against Him. Pray for everyone from the President of the United States to the members of the local city council.
