WDVX Celebrates 12th Anniversary With Friday Performance

From its bare-bones beginnings in 1997 as a bluegrass station in a camper on top of a mountain in Clinton, WDVX has grown into an award-winning roots music radio station recognized around the world. The station's celebrating its 12th anniversary this weekend with a performance at its studio in the Knoxville Visitors Center at 301 S. Gay St., on the corner of Gay and Summit Hill Boulevard. The Naughty Knots and John Sutton will play from 6-8 p.m. in an evening version of the weekday Blue Plate Special Series; if that's not enough, Magpies Bakery will serve cupcakes.

The anniversary celebration's taking place in conjunction with the WDVX Fall Fund Drive, which runs through Friday, Nov. 13.
