Sara Schwabe Comes Back to Knoxville for New Year's Eve First Night

Sara Schwabe's not wasting any of the time she spends in her adopted hometown over the holidays. Schwabe's visiting from Tempe, Ariz., where she's studying acting at Arizona State University. While she's in town, she's getting some members of the old Yankee Jass Band—Geol Greenlee, Chris Zuhr, and Schwabe's fellow Knoxville ex-pat Phil Pollard—together for a New Year's Eve show at the Square Room as part of First Night Knoxville celebration downtown. Schwabe will also perform a solo set at the YWCA later in the night.

Pollard, who decamped to Virginia a couple of years ago, will also be performing with the Band of Humans during First Night on the Market Square Stage.

The second edition of First Night, a family-friendly and alcohol-free New Year's Eve party, will feature live music on Market Square, at the Square Room and the Tennessee Theatre, and at various smaller venues all over downtown, culminating in a ball drop and fireworks at midnight on the Square. Admission is $10. Visit First Night Knoxville.
