Knoxville Film and Music Festival Adds Music Video Contest

The upcoming Knoxville Film and Music Festival, scheduled for June, has just announced an addition to its lineup of local films and music performances that will combine both disciplines—the Competitive Music Video Awards, a four-day music-video shootout contest pairing local musicians and filmmakers. Here's how it works: Interested local bands and solo performers will submit music for consideration between now and May 6. Potential filmmakers will register May 6-10. The best 16 bands will be selected from the submissions, and, on June 6, 16 filmmakers will be randomly drawn from the registration pool and matched with a band. Then they will have four days to plan, shoot, and edit a music video, which will be judged by a panel of local music and film personalities. The registration fee—$65 for bands, $30 for filmmakers—is only required for the selected participants. The final awards will be announced on June 13 at NV Nightclub in the Old City.
