Meanwhile, upstairs at Host Clothing, local thrash-blues outfit Lobster Lobster Lobster is slated to play. Be there between 8 and 9 p.m. If you've never heard Lobster 3 before, then you should probably know that this is going to be loud, like a faster version of The Melvins . When you wake up the next morning, your ears should be ringing, unless you weren't standing close enough.

One of Host's proprietors, Craig Kandel , says that there will be an installation piece, too, and that it will blow your mind. We're not sure what it is exactly, but we've been told that it involves mirrors. You'll be tumbling down the rabbit hole, in a sense.

I've always felt that blues, rock'n'roll and country are just about a beat apart.

Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art.

When you're done checking out Market Square and all of Gay Street (don't forget the Art Gallery of Knoxville over near Regas Restaurant), head over to David Wolff's Fluorescent Gallery at 627 N. Central St. This month Fluorescent will feature the works of four Knoxville-area artists: John Bissonette , Abby Coe , Katherine Nanfro and Shawn Gallagher . Their works take images from pop culture, such as the infamous decal of Calvin urinating on sundry NASCAR logos, and reinterprets them as something a little more intimate, perhaps even romantic. Or, if you will, picture a professional wrestling match--what many consider to be utterly devoid of artistic substance is tinged with spiritual exigency to others. These artists take pop imagery--that which we usually dismiss as utterly non-artistic--and they carefully craft it into something more, something that begs to be reinterpreted again and again.

If you don't buy it, we will. Don't know why, but it's kinda cool.
