On Sunday afternoon, more than 12 hours after the end of the V-Roys' New Year's Eve reunion show at the Tennessee Theatre, V-Roys guitarist Mic Harrison could be found standing in the cold outside the Bistro at the Bijou, smoking a cigarette. Members of his other band, the High Score, who had opened the show the night before, were inside at the bar. Harrison said none of them, including him, had been to bed yet.
"I've got all week to sleep," he said.
The big question on most fans' minds after the show was whether the band would make music together again. Harrison indicated he was relieved that the reunion show—and the months of anticipation leading up to it—were over.
"That's it," he said. "It's done."
When he was reminded that the V-Roys had said the same thing when they broke up in 1999, Harrison waved the suggestion away. In another 12 years, he joked, none of them will be in shape to play together again.
