Ramsey Thinks Haslam Great Choice for VP

Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey has been taking some ribbing lately. It usually starts with someone asking him if Gov. Bill Haslam would be a good vice presidential choice for Mitt Romney. Ramsey laughs and plays along, observing that Haslam "would be a wonderful vice president."

Under the Constitution, of course, the Senate speaker is the lieutenant governor and, should Haslam become vice president, Ramsey would take the governor's chair. That would be an ironic outcome, given that Ramsey lost the Republican primary for governor to Haslam in 2010.
