The U.S. Postal Service has cut the number of post offices to be closed from the initial round of 416 down to 371. But the Norwood post office on Clinton Highway remains on the final list of closures.
No final dates for the closings have been announced, but it appears there will be 16 Tennessee post offices closed. Norwood is the only Knoxville facility to make the closing list.
A protest did save the historic Arcade post office in Nashville, stationed in an alley about a block from Legislative Plaza, amid a group of coffee shops and shoe-shine stands.
