Knoxville attorney Gordon Ball is calling around to gauge support for a U.S. Senate run.
The longtime Democratic contributor would be running against incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander, a prohibitive favorite in the race. Ball has considered entering races before, including against the recently re-elected Republican U.S. Sen. Bob Corker. The question is whether he will pull the trigger this time.
Ball is a class-action attorney, best known locally for lawsuits on behalf of property owners on the Pigeon River, which is polluted by a paper mill just over the North Carolina border.
