Greg Gleaves, the chief of staff for House Speaker Beth Harwell, has decided it's time to cash in.
Gleaves is leaving his position running the 130-member staff that operates the state House of Representatives to become a lobbyist. Gleaves took the post as Harwell's aide after being executive director of the state Republican Party during the huge gains of 2010 that gave the party the governor's office and absolute control of both Houses of the Legislature. The Congressional delegation also switched to a Republican majority.
Gleaves is joining Hall Strategies in mid-August.
