Front Page Follies Spotlight WATE's Gene Patterson

Gene Patterson, anchor of WATE news, will be this year's honoree for the Front Page Follies.

Each year the Society of Professional Journalists put on a musical variety show poking fun at the foibles of public officials and giving a humorous look at the news of the past year. The show recognizes a person each year for their contributions to journalism. This year's show will be July 24.

Patterson has been a local news reporter and anchor for 25 years at WBIR and WATE. He also served a stint as deputy to Mayor Victor Ashe.
