Personal: Grew up in Speedway, Ind. Attended Johnson Bible College. Married to Donald DeFreese, a mailman. Four children, aged 9 to 15. Lives in South Knoxville.
Professional: Elementary school teacher in the Talented and Gifted program at Carter Elementary and Gap Creek Elementary. Taught 6th grade at Whittle Springs Elementary last year.
Civic Experience: Interim County Commissioner, 2008. Has served on the Knox County Library Advisory Board and the Transfer of Development Rights Land-Use Concept task force. Republican precinct delegate.
Becky Duncan Massey
Personal: Knoxville native, although attended high school in Virginia. Daughter of former Knoxville mayor and U.S. Rep. John J. Duncan, Sr., and sister to current U.S. Rep. John J. Duncan, Jr.. Majored in business at UT. Married to software developer Morton Massey; two grown daughters.
Professional: Executive director of Sertoma Center for 14 years.
Civic Experience: Former co-chair of Dogwood Arts Festival. Frequent volunteer (with her husband) running computerized checkout for charity auctions. Longtime softball coach.
Personal: Grew up in Ohio. Resident of Sequoyah Hills. Married to Patrick Roddy. Three daughters ages 15, 19, 22.

Chair of Audit Committee, member of City Investment Advisory Board, former co-chair of the Neighborhood Traffic Safety Committee, past president of the Metropolitan Drug Commission, former vice-chair of Legacy Parks Foundation. Served on the Ijams Nature Center Board of Directors.
Personal: Has mostly lived in Knoxville since 7th grade. Graduate of Farragut High School. Majored in special education at UT. Divorced; no children.
