Personal: Grew up in North Knoxville, West Knoxville, and Halls. Has lived in Mechanicsville since 1992. Has a daughter, 7.

Professional: UT degree in art and math. Some graduate study in architecture. Works as a freelance architectural designer.

Civic Experience: Active for years in neighborhood groups, COIN, the Partnership for Neighborhood Improvement.

Michael McBath

Age: 26

Personal: Grew up in Mechanicsville and West Knoxville. Bearden High School grad. Lives in South Knoxville. Married, two children.

Professional: Degree in computer engineering from ITT Tech. Works as a technical media producer for WVLT-TV.

Civic Experience: Ran for Knox County mayor last year. Volunteers giving music and computer lessons to children in low-income neighborhoods.

John Stancil

Age: 62

Personal: Grew up in Memphis and lived there most of his life. Moved to Knoxville for his job in 2005. Has lived in Parkridge since 2006. Married; they have five children and five grandchildren between the two of them.

Professional: Attended Memphis State, left to enter military. Works in sales for Stanley Access Technologies.

Civic Experience: Active in neighborhood groups and local nonprofits. Wife, Cynthia, ran for County Commission.

George Wallace

Age: 52

Personal: Knoxville native, West High School grad. Lives in West Knoxville. Married, one grown son in law school. Wife is retired Knox County teacher.

Professional: Degree in landscape design from UT. Owner of Wallace & Wallace Realtors, the family business. Past president of the Knoxville Area Association of Realtors, and was named 2010 Realtor of the Year.

Civic Experience: Chairman of Knox Housing Partnership, which matches first-time homebuyers with affordable housing. On KCDC's I-275/Downtown North Advisory Board. Active in United Way.
