The Market Square restaurants are a cooperative group, and next week they're banding together for "Samples on the Square." Proceeds will benefit the Knox Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Initiative, which has the goal of preventing adolescent pregnancy through a community-wide effort that promotes abstinence, self-respect, and responsible decision-making. Eleven eateries will offer specialities for a flat price of $50, including Blue Coast Burrito's Chicken Taquitos, Cafe 4's Low Country Shrimp and Grits Tapas with Adouille sausage, and Cocoa Moon's Cuban pork wing with white rice and black beans. Other featured restaurants include Bella Luna, Marble Slab, Latitude 35, Oodles Uncorked, Rita's, and Shono's in the City—and other Market Square businesses will provide special discounts for attendees.
Samples on the Square is Thursday, Aug. 11, from 6-9 p.m., $50 per person; contact Terri Geiser for tickets: 865-215-5547 or firstname.lastname@example.org
