Big Stuff At County Commission

The Knox County Commission is expected to vote on two very important resolutions this week in its Monday meeting. The first, recommended by Commissioner Mark Harmon, will seek to reduce the number of the county's take-home vehicles by 56: 28 from the sheriff's office and 28 from general county offices. The move is expected to save the cash-strapped county nearly $400,000. The full commission is also expected to take a look at the proposed lease of the State Street parking lot to developer Cliff Goss, who reportedly plans on using the space to build 10 new downtown buildings.
