For downtown falafel lovers, Yassin’s opening is a dream come true. And even if you don't work or live downtown, it's worth the drive. Currently, Yassin's menu is simple: falafel sandwiches and hummus. But these staples of Middle Eastern fare are as close to perfection as one could hope for, made according to Yassin's own recipes. The sandwiches offer up a multitude of flavors and textures, from the crunchy outer bit of the freshly made falafel balls to the cool, nutty tahini sauce, all spiced however you like it. (Get it spicy.) Meanwhile, the hummus is super creamy and fresh, topped with a dab of olive oil. A wonderful combo.
