From YUMMM!, the Metro Pulse Restaurant Guide:
Wild Wing Cafe opened in June 2007 and has won “Best Wings in Knoxville” in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. But have you tried one of the best burgers in Knoxville? It’s true: The burgers at Wild Wing Cafe are definitely something to brag about. You can build yourself a beauty, with your choice of seven different cheeses, an array of toppers, and of course almost any of the 34 sauces that make Wild Wing Cafe not only your destination for wings, but for big, beefy burgers, too.
If you are looking for a burger one step above the rest, try one of Wild Wing Cafe Steakhouse Burgers. All of them are hand-pattied, never frozen half-pound Angus ground chuck, and are a sight to behold. They are topped with a fresh-cut, hand-dipped-in-signature-beer-batter, golden-fried onion ring, and then served with lots of big, fat fries or sweet potato fries.
The Ultimate Bacon Cheese Burger is covered with cheddar and pepper jack cheese—and they are not skimpy with the bacon, either. This giant comes with three strips of crispy bacon then topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and mayo. You have to use both hands to hold on to this guy.
If you skipped breakfast and went ahead to lunch, then the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Burger is the only way to start your day. A fried egg cooked over-easy finds its home on top of a half-pound Angus chuck patty, then a slice of melty cheddar and three strips of bacon pulls it all together, making this one the perfect “I skipped breakfast” burger.
The Holy Jalapeño Burger brings on the heat. This burger is not for the faint of heart, but it’s not too spicy for the professionals. The patty is covered with jalapeño cheddar marinade, sliced pickled jalapeños, and then topped with melted pepper jack cheese. Be sure to keep your napkin nearby—you just might need it to wipe the heat from your forehead.
A gourmet delight for discerning burger lovers is the Bleu Cheese Basil Burger. This bit of savory deliciousness is topped with Italian marinade, then covered with bacon and crumbled blue cheese, tomato, shredded lettuce, and basil mayo. Be sure to ask for sweet potato fries sprinkled with garlic and Parmesan cheese for your side. You will not be disappointed!
The finest place to enjoy one of these masterpiece burgers is on the best patio in town looking over Lake Wild Wing on a late summer evening, listening to the hands-down-best acoustic artists in town. So, bring the family or meet some friends and try to take a bite of one of the Steakhouse Burgers with just one hand. We dare you.
