Tin Roof

Part of the Strip since 2009, The Tin Roof hosts a large outdoor patio and prides itself on being a bar that doesn’t serve the typical “bar food.” Boasting fresh salads, quesadillas, extra-large sandwiches, and a variety of appetizers, the Tin Roof makes its salsa, guacamole, and marinades from scratch. Happy Hour specials everyday and live music is presented six nights a week.

Casual and fun, Tin Roof calls itself a “live music joint,” but that doesn’t really do it justice. It has created a rollicking late-night live music scene, featuring bands from here, Nashville, and points across the nation. (By late night, we mean beginning about 10:30 or 11 and closing down at 3 a.m.) But their food is just as worthy of a visit, and they pride themselves on being a bar that doesn’t serve bar food. Instead, they ladle out guacamole and salsa homemade each day from a Tin Roof family recipe to go along with their signature giant quesadillas, gourmet pressed sandwiches, and garden fresh salads. Some of the most noteworthy: the California quesadilla with its grilled chicken, avocado, corn, and Jack cheese; sandwiches like cubans, tuna melts, and the never-imitated peanut butter and banana on Texas toast; and the freshly concocted fried stuff, from chicken tenders and buffalo fried shrimp to Honey-Hot, Hot, or Fire Tin Roof wings.

This is also a place to relax, with plenty of booths, televisions, tables, and a retro vibe throughout. Perhaps Tin Roof’s front door sign says it best: When you’re at the Tin Roof, “no bitchin’ or whinin’ beyond this point.”
