The backbone of the Old City’s nightlife scene, SouthBound offers five full-service bars, a 144-foot projection screen, and a dozen flat-screen TVs. Along with their second level suite “Luxury,” SouthBound plays host to our DJ request dance party every weekend from 9 p.m. until 3 a.m., with everything from ’80s to Country to Top 40 hits (available for venue rental through week).

Singer/songwriter and self-proclaimed “Dirty Old One-Man Band” Scott H. Biram typically bangs the hell out of his beat-up Gibson and stomps the floor to keep time; it’s a throwback to the old juke joints of the Mississippi Delta, but Biram’s ramshackle, pissed-off take on the form resembles an acoustic Royal Trux (if Neil Hagerty liked meth instead of dope) more than any real country bluesmen.
