Newk's Express local staff describe it as a "quick casual concept" that specializes in soups, salads, pizzas and sandwiches with a culinary-driven flavor, and that extends to everything Newk's does. The restaurant does not have ketchup or mustard in the store, and it uses imported sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper. The pizzas are 10-inch, California-style. The salads are made in house with dressings made from scratch. The subs are made with homemade chicken salad and meats sliced in house. Staff say you cannot get the soups or desserts at any other restaurant because they use their own recipes and cakes are baked fresh at Newk's bakery.
