For years the Holy Land has been a destination spot for all sorts of Middle-Eastern goodies from falfelt to zaatar supplemented by culinary treasures from central Europe to the sub-continent. Nowadays, you can buy supplies for your hookah and then sit down to a plate of hummus in their renovated and expanded dining room. The menu covers lots of bases and features kafta burgers, lamb kebab, and plenty of all-American fare including burgers, an impressive Dagwood and other New York deli style sandwiches. Make sure to check the board or chat with chef and owner Walter to learn about the weekly specials—you’ll eat well and feel like part of the family quicker than you can say baba ghanoush.

They are not kidding about feeling like you are a part of the family. Walter and Denise love to serve their regulars (and they have so many). Their hummus is the BEST I have ever had (and I love hummus). A wonderful cafe' style dining room with the store attached. I recommend picking up some pickled turnips (the bright pink things in the picture) it goes so well with hummus or by itself. They also have an amazing olive bar. I don't live in Knoxville but whenever I am in town I stock up! :D

Best food in town! Always a large variety to fit any palate. Plus, a great selection of yummy foods in the market. Being treated like family is the icing on the cake! :)
