Flavor, freshness, and quality stand out at Cosmo’s Cafe. This classic cafe serves coffees and fine teas, freshly baked croissants, brioche and quiche, French baguette sandwiches with premium meats and cheeses, homemade soups daily, salads, sides and daily specials prepared by the chef. Stop in for the famous weekend brunch where the Omelette Bar Chef prepares made-to-order omelettes. Wine and beer available.

From the YUMMM! Restaurant Guide:

For 35 years, Gourmet’s Market has been Knoxville’s destination for the finest foods, ingredients, and cookware available. And for 19 of those years, it’s also been the go-to spot for fantastic food at Cosmo’s Caffé. The unique bistro serves quality fare—everything that comes on the plate or in the bowl is created from some of the best raw ingredients available. Cosmo’s never messes around with the quality of their food.

Their new menu is stuffed with ingredients like Irish bacon, Black Forest ham, and double-cream Brie—names that dance like sugar plums in a food-lover’s head and make anybody’s mouth water. Cosmo’s takes the idea of soup and sandwich to epicurean levels. Their Southern Grilled Cheese is a taste of homegrown heaven in the form of a grilled pimento cheese sandwich with tomato, bread and butter pickles, and bacon. And it just gets better from there. Soups come of homemade stocks, and Cosmo’s only uses a minimum of thickeners—if they use them at all. At least one vegan or vegetarian soup is always available, and, should you be unable to decide on a soup, you can ask for a taste—even though you’ll probably end up wanting a bowl of each.

Options at breakfast are equally tempting, especially Cosmo’s famous Toad in a Hole and Frog in a Ditch where a fried egg rests in the middle of toothsome sourdough bread and topped with double-cream Brie (Toad), or Cotswold cheese and country sausage (Frog). But there are plenty of options, from the Classic Breakfast that gets dressed up with applewood-smoked bacon to the very popular Big Burrito that’s stuffed with three eggs, bacon, and more and finished with two salsas and sour cream.

And don’t forget the sweet spots of the morning. Cosmo’s offers grilled coffee cake, pancakes with fresh fruit or chocolate chips, and French toast made with Italian bread and stuffed with Nutella, or cinnamon raisin bread that’s topped with cream soda-soaked raisins. It’s almost an embarrassment of riches that makes you crave breakfast all day, which is just fine since Cosmo’s obliges by making breakfast available all day.
Over the 19 years that Cosmo’s has been in business, a few things have changed—these days they offer full sit-down service, they have a dog-friendly patio, and they now serve beer and wine. But one thing has remained true throughout its being: Cosmo’s is the premiere spot for top-notch food and, like sauce for the goose, it’s locally owned, too.

Gourmet Market is one of the only places in Knoxville where you can get healthy, local, and innovative food choices, and the prices are very reasonable too. Only bad things about this place is that it's only open for breakfast and lunch :-(
