Located in the heart of the historic Old City, Barley’s serves up some of the best New York-style hand-tossed pizza in the region. Plus they offer a variety of other selections including huge calzones, pasta and appetizers like black bean hummus and hand-battered Buffalo fingers. Voted best beer selection by our readers, Barley’s has one of the most diverse beer selections in town. Enjoy your brew on the newly revamped patio, or listen to live music by local and national acts alike. Also featuring lunch specials every day. Full bar. No checks.
From the YUMMM! Restaurant Guide:
A cornerstone of the Old City, Barley’s is also one of Knoxville’s most popular dining and drinking destinations; it’s a perennial Best of Knoxville winner, most recently scooping up Best Beer Selection once again, along with runner-up placings for Best Pizza, Best Bar, Best Patio, and Best Rock Club. Perhaps this is because Barley’s successfully manages to be nearly all things to all people, offering a casual atmosphere for friendly gatherings, celebrations, or relaxing on the covered porch. If you’re in it for the food, Barley’s has fresh salads, lots of pizzas, and other edibles that perfectly complement the beverage of choice: beer. They tap a mix of the ordinary and the extraordinary offering a great selection of quality craft beers, regional favorites and domestics.
In addition to pizza and dozens of beers, Barley’s also offers live music most nights every week, from up-and-coming local bands to big-name touring acts. So, whether you want to throw a party or have a nice family dinner, Barley’s has got you covered.,/p>

This latest issue of Metro Pulse, the biggest ever, was a real bear to put together—weeks of extra work, actually. And you know how we’re going to celebrate that it’s finished? With a big party at Barley’s in the Old City. And we’ll be getting help from local Americana band Guy Marshall and the oddball rock weirdos King Super and the Excellents. Plus, you can stay late for ...

John Paul Keith’s music projects always start out well. He’s just not had much luck with making them last. When he was just 19, Keith was one of the original members of Knoxville’s Viceroys; he left that band before they changed their name to The V-Roys and put out two nationally acclaimed albums. In the late ’90s Keith moved to Nashville and put together the Nevers, a British Invasion-inspired power ...

I believe the drink special is for happy-hour only, and not all the time every day.

My favorite pizza in town and best beer selection in town. A great place to relax and drink with friends on the top floor. If there is a band playing, which is very often, the music is good, but if want to talk go upstairs. A great local place--where I always bring out of towners.

The pizza is great, beer selection is fantastic, live bands are nice, too.
Only negative is that every time I have been, it's terrible service. Waiters deliver your pizza to another table... 5 minutes later you get the pizza passed over to you. Not to mention, once we had a waiter who would just randomly walk off as we were mid-sentence of ordering. silly.

The wait is always too long, and the service is some of the worst in town. The last visit we got our pizza after 45 mins and half the bottom was burnt black....at least it was free in the end. Honestly, I prefer Downtown Brewery....the Pizza is equally good, and service is far better. Barley's has better brew though.
