This new port in the Old City isn’t really a rum house full of swashbuckling renegades and salty, peg-legged and patch-eyed cutthroats—in fact it’s almost the opposite. Armada is a fancy watering hole that makes handcrafted cocktails with a little of what they call molecular gastronomy on the side: mint or tonic caviars and special foams dress up the drinks that are made with fresh juices and exotic spices from all along the Spice Route. There’s a menu of specialty drinks with nautical names and you even get a choice of ice cubes. The Grub Menu is short and sweet with Cheese Planks, Cannon (Cheese) Balls, sliders, panini, and pizza. Long John might not really feel at home here during Jolly Hour (5-7 pm), but you probably will.
