Gil Hough, president of the newly formed Tennessee Solar Energy Industry Association, was a renewable energy advocate with the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy for 15 years. He believes TVA’s proposed goal of generating up to 8 percent of its electricity through renewables is far too modest, but admits that “TVA sees that renewables are real.”
