Some statewide Democratic candidates and their supporters were a bit miffed at their treatment at the recent Jackson Day Dinner in Nashville. Party chair Roy Herron introduced a lot of people, including some volunteers who help put on the event. But he didn’t introduce gubernatorial candidate John McKamey and U.S. Senate candidates Gordon Ball and Terry Adams or allow them to address the crowd—a crowd of the most active Democratic Party supporters.
Ironically, the keynote speaker was a U.S. Senate candidate—from Kentucky. Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is running against Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell. McKamey is a former Sullivan County mayor and Ball and Adams are Knoxville attorneys.
