Rev3 Running Into Knoxville

What people are writing about Knoxville on the Web

The Revolution3 Triathlon, or Rev3, is one of the biggest races in Knoxville each year, drawing triathletes from around the country. Knoxville (May 18) is its only Tennessee stop in a tour that hits nine other states, from Connecticut to South Carolina. So what do these human racing machines think of Knoxville? Let’s turn to Brittany Banker’s thoughts at rev3tri.com and her March 1 blog post, “Rev3 Knoxville – Review and Things to Do!” She points to the downtown area—”called Market Square”—as the place to be for plenty of diversions, such as the Tennessee Theatre, apparently, though she also gives special note to Mast General Store (“this old-style mercantile has been a fixture in Knoxville in one form or another since the late 1800s”). She continues to list several other nearby attractions, such as the Sunsphere Tower (“You can’t miss this place. Seriously.”) and Dollywood. Her enthusiasm is endearing, and she states something that couldn’t have been said, oh, 10 years ago: “There are way too many things in Knoxville for me to give you a comprehensive look at the city...”
