Knox Duo Hopes to Remake 'Video Killed the Radio Star' Video

Curious Knox Crowd-Funding Project of the Month:

The Modern Rental

We’re not entirely sure we “get” this local Kickstarter project by Jeff Delaney and John Thomas Oaks, but we do know this: We like the Buggles and we kinda miss the old MTV, back when it played amusing music videos. So this is what the guys propose: To remake the Buggles’ “Video Killed the Radio Star” as a music video parody. “Picture outlandish hairdos, costumes, crazy sets and artwork, explosions, theatrical smoke and lighting effects, a live band, and much more—all set to that memorable melody,” they write on their campaign page. Okay, we’re on board for that! Next, the rental part: “We aim at taking a humorous look at all the different ways people access their digital entertainment in this modern age.” So, it’s about classic MTV and... streaming media? Well, we’ll just have to see how it comes together. Delaney and Oaks are looking to raise $6,000 to cover production costs. We can’t rewind we’ve gone too far!
