Big Ears Adds Low, Earth, Kim Gordon's Body/Head, and More to 2014 Lineup

Big Ears, the AC Entertainment-organized avant-garde/experimental/etc. fest that’s returning in March after a three-year layoff, added some big names to an already impressive roster of artists that includes Steve Reich, Television, John Cale, Marc Ribot, Johnny Greenwood, Tim Hecker, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips. The most notable additions are Minnesota slowcore pioneers Low, Seattle drone-metal heroes Earth, and former Sonic Youth bassist/vocalist Kim Gordon’s new band, Body/Head. Also included in the most recent announcement are Alabama folk artist and musician Lonnie Holley; New York duo Buke and Gase, who play their own homemade instruments; NPR contributor David Greenberger and his “interpretative musical accompaniment,” Prime Lens; Ethiopian keyboard maestro Hailu Mergia; and Norwegian singer and writer Jenny Hval.

Additionally, AC Entertainment announced that the members of drone/noise supergroup Nazoranai—Stephen O’Malley, of Sunn O))), Oren Ambarchi, and Japanese guitar legend Keiji Haino—will perform solo and duo shows during the festival. Visit bigearsfestival.com for more info.
