Artists' Colony Raising Money for Summer Residencies

Have you always thought that what Knoxville really needs is an artists’ colony? A place to retreat into the woods and find your creative bearings to finally finish that novel? Well, you’re in luck! We actually have one coming together—in Karns. The Sundress Academy for the Arts was founded last February at a place named Firefly Farms, which organizers promise to be “the perfect artists’ getaway.” Although they’ve started refurbishing a ’60s-era farmhouse on the land, they say it still needs work before they can accept residencies this summer. Thus, their campaign seeks to raise $10,000 for central heat and air, a new bathroom, wood stoves, etc. More info at:
