Call it the Military Caucus?

Should Knox County Commissioner Richard Briggs, a retired military man, get elected to the state Legislature maybe he should help form the military caucus.

The current crop of retired career military people in the Legislature include state Sen. Mark Green, state Sen. Delores Gresham, state Rep. Courtney Rogers, state Rep. John Ragan, and state Rep. Tony Shipley, all Republicans.

There are also three other races statewide in which retired career military people are being recruited to run.

Briggs, who is also a doctor, is running against incumbent state Sen. Stacey Campfield.
