Former University of Tennessee basketball coach Bruce Pearl is one of the hosts for a fund-raiser in Knoxville next week.

The Sequoyah Hills fund-raiser is for U.S. Senate candidate Gordon Ball. Ball is a hefty contributor to UT Athletics and was during the Pearl era. There is a Gordon Ball Conference Room in one of the athletics buildings.

The April 24 fund-raiser, at the home of Mark and Joanne Hazelwood, is $1,000 per couple and among the dozen names on the host committee invitation includes Knoxville attorney Greg Isaacs. Hazelwood is the president of Pilot Flying J.

Pearl recently became the basketball coach at Auburn University, disappointing many Vol fans who wanted him to come back to UT after his NCAA suspension.

Ball, a Knoxville attorney, is running for the Democratic Party nomination to oppose incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander.
