Knoxville: City of Adventurous Tailgators

What people are writing about Knoxville on the Web

Yes, it’s no surprise: One of our claims to fame consists of sitting around in parking lots, drinking beer, and waiting for the football game to start. But does the University of Tennessee-Knoxville really lead the entire country when it comes to drinking beer and waiting for the football game to start? Yes we do! Or at least that’s according to Bleacher Report, “digital media’s most engaging content experience to sports fans all over the world,” which slots UT at number 1 in their auspicious Top 25 College Football Tailgating Schools for 2014 list. Columnist Brian Pedersen reports that “Volunteers fans don’t just use the Tennessee River to get to Neyland Stadium; they make it a floating party.” You see, we’ve taken tailgating to new frontiers—drinking beer and waiting for the football game on water.
