MetroFest Becomes the MetroFest Music Tour

This year, instead of one big music festival to celebrate Knoxville’s local music scene (and benefit the Joy of Music School), we’re spreading the goods around. So MetroFest is now the MetroFest Music Tour, a rotating monthly concert series featuring local bands and solo performers that will hit venues all over town into 2014.

The Tour kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Bowery in the Old City with “schizophrenic roots rock” combo Itchy and the Hater Tots and acoustic/bluegrass group the Grassroots Gringos. Admission is $5 and goes to the Joy of Music School, which teaches music to underprivileged children, free of charge. Check out our interview with Itchy on and look in next week’s issue for more details on this show and future Tour stops.
