I read the article in Metro Pulse about “The Battle over 287[G]” [cover story by Paige Huntoon, Aug. 15, 2013]. I noticed on the cover a sign that said “It hurts when families are separated.”

I can only say that I agree with the sign. It is very unfortunate that individuals and families feel that a better life can be had by crossing over into the U.S. and then find that they have subjected themselves to disruptive circumstances.

It might be a better expenditure of time, money, and emotion to advertise outside the U.S. and alert potential emigrants that there are very real problems associated with being here in the U.S. illegally.

Emigrants are not Illegal Aliens! No one wants to be separated from thei familes, yet when you are caught Breaking the Law and convicted you will be separated from them. There is a legal way to emigrate into this country that has worked for over 200 yrs, why should the newest crop of Illegals be above the LAW?
