Haslam Seeking Cleveland Funds

Cleveland media has been quiet of late about the federal investigation of Pilot Flying J, but it doesn’t mean CEO Jimmy Haslam hasn’t been getting attention. He still owns the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are going to Cleveland city government to ask for $120 million to upgrade the stadium, which is owned by the city.

Cleveland media and message boards have been buzzing, asking questions about the request to the city. Haslam sold naming rights to the stadium to First Energy for a reported $100 million. The Browns own the naming rights rather than city government.

Fans are also upset that the Browns traded last year’s top draft pick Trent Richardson, a former running back for the University of Alabama’s championship football team, for more draft picks for future years.
