Another Judge Candidate

Knoxville attorney Kristi Davis has joined the race to replace Circuit Judge Dale Workman.

Davis, a partner at Hodges, Doughty & Carson, came to public notice recently successfully appealing the decision of a Cocke County judge to forbid parents naming their child “Messiah.” The judge’s opinion was set aside and the judge now faces sanctions.

Davis is a UT law grad, a Karns native, and has been practicing for 15 years.

Local attorneys Ray Jenkins and Billy Stokes have also announced for the race.

Meanwhile, 4th Division Circuit Court Judge Bill Swann has announced that he will not seek another term in office. The 71-year-old judge has been handling divorce court for over 30 years.
